What is soy wax?
Essentially, wax is a flammable, solid substance that, when heated above room temperature, transitions to a liquid state. Wax is the driving force of the candle, its fuel.
When a scented candle is lit, the wax melts, burns and evaporates, producing heat and emitting light. How to use soy wax correctly?
When working with soy wax, it is important to follow all the manufacturer's recommendations and not to overheat the wax and use it for its intended purpose.
How is soy wax made?
Soybean wax was invented only in 1996. To extract the oil, the soybean crop is harvested and purified. The soybeans are then peeled, crushed and flaked. An oil is extracted from these flakes, which is then hydrogenated. During the process, the unsaturated fatty acids in the oil become saturated. This changes the melting point of the oil, so at room temperature the wax hardens and is the right consistency for making candles.
How is beeswax obtained?
Wax is produced by the wax glands of worker bees (mostly young) in the belly of insects. Under certain conditions, wax dandruff exudes. These small, thin plates of wax are transferred by the bees to each other, and in a way they "knit" the most important "organ" of their habitat - the honeycomb.
The production of wax depends on the honeysuckle - the better it is, the more wax is produced. A strong bee colony can produce 2-5 kg of wax per season.
The bees secrete a completely white wax, and when sewing the combs, pitch and pollen are added to it. Essential oils and dyes are absorbed from the honey into the wax, so the wax acquires the color and smell of honey. What is a diffuser?
The diffuser is also known as home fragrance with sticks. Its purpose is to spread the beneficial properties of essential or aromatic oils to the environment, filling the room with your favorite aroma, which determines your mood, feelings and physical well-being.
What products are needed to make candles?
When making candles, the compatibility of all ingredients is paramount. You should first decide which candles you will make: in molds or containers. Then you should choose them. The wax, wax, paint, essential or aromatic oil suitable for the molds or dishes should then be adapted to suit personal needs. Later candles can be decorated with a variety of dried herbs, flowers, stones or mica.
How can aromatic oils be used?
Aromatic oils are used in the production of candles, home fragrances, potpourri and incense, cleaning products, soaps, perfumes and cosmetics. However, their intended use is specified in the IFRA document, so before choosing which product to use aromatic oil, check their intended use and the permissible odor concentration in the product.
Which aromatic oils are the best quality?
Today, it is not enough to just mention that quality aromatic oils are those that do not contain preservatives, parabens, phthalates. All aromatic oils must have the following documents: Safety Data Sheet (SDS), IFRA and Allergen Certificates. Aromatic oils have to meet strict requirements in terms of their impact on humans and the environment, so it is very important to choose a fragrance manufacturer that works on the principle of Green Chemistry, minimizing the impact of fragrances on the environment and protecting fragile natural ecosystems. By carefully selecting molecules, these manufacturers create the optimal product while maintaining a balance between safety, odor performance, and price. The aromatic oils selected from the Aurae range have been produced exclusively from biodegradable ingredients since 2010. When assessing the quality of aromatic oils, it is also very important to take into account their concentration.
What are essential oils?
The essential oil is a complex blend of volatile aromatic compounds created by the plant that evaporates at ambient temperatures, evolutionarily perfected over millions of years to help the plant fight for its state and the survival of the species.
How are essential oils made?
Essential oils are obtained from plants by distillation with water or water vapor, or by supercritical CO2 extraction.
How do essetial oils absorb into the system?
Essential oils enter the body in two ways: by inhalation and through the skin. The molecules of the essential oils are so small that they dissolve in the nasal mucosa quickly into the lungs, then into the bloodstream and then carried throughout the body. The essential oil that gets through the skin (during foot rubbing, body massage, aromatherapy bath, etc.) travels throughout the body and gives off its strengthening properties.
How to use essential oils?
1) Essential oils are usually evaporated in aromatic lamps. Add 3-5 drops of essential oil to the water, mix several types of oil or use the mixtures for evaporation. It is important that the bottom of such a lamp is as thick as possible and above the flame. Then the oil in the lamp will not burn and evaporate evenly, creating a cozy atmosphere. If you do not have an aromatic lamp you can add a few drops of essential oil to a container with dried flowers, put on a napkin and put it in a cupboard or put on a warm radiator. Aromatherapy stones can also be used.
2) It is possible to make natural home scents, add a few drops when washing the floor, pamper yourself with aromatherapy baths, apply certain oils (eg lavender) on the inside of the pillow (1-2 drops) for a quiet night's sleep, massage (diluted with vegetable oil), saunas. How to make lavender oil?
Lavender oil is made from lavender leaves and flowers. Put as much chopped lavender in a dark glass container and pour it into the crude vegetable oil (olives, flaxseed, macadamia, almonds) to the top, leaving no air gaps. The raw material may be fresh or dried, but necessarily dry. The prepared dish is left in the sun for 21 days. cycle, every 7 days (or when the raw material changes color to dark brown) by replacing the raw material in the container with a new one and adding crude oil to the top of the container. After 3 weeks, the contents of the vessel are drained and the resulting oil is poured into a dark glass bottle and stored in a dark, cool place. Such oil (phytol) is valid for several months. You can use it for massages, rubbing, instead of cream or hair masks.
How do essential oils differ from aromatic oils?
Essential oils are natural, often fragrant, highly concentrated plant extracts. They can be extracted from the roots, leaves, stems, flowers or fruits of plants using a process called distillation. Essential oils are strong, 100% natural and can be extracted from plants - lavender, cedar, geranium, ylang-ylang, orange, cinnamon leaves, etc. However, essential oils are not designed for candle making. At higher temperatures (above 60 C) they burn and also evaporate faster compared to aromatic oils. Therefore, when making candles, it is very important to choose the right wax and take into account its melting and pouring temperatures. Aromatic oils are man-made flavor compounds using different combinations of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. The development of aromatic oils can create multiple, complex, luxurious fragrance substances that cannot be extracted from plants, e.g. chocolate, ocean freshness, various berries, etc. Also, some naturally extracted substances, such as musk, are prohibited from being extracted naturally because of the extraction of the reproductive organs of whales, deer, or beavers. Aromatic oils have strict requirements in terms of their impact on humans and the environment, so it is very important to choose quality fragrances that do not contain preservatives, parabens, phthalates. High-quality aromatic oils use essential oils, oils that are identical to natural and man-made aromas to produce a perfect fragrance composition. Aromatic oils have their own designation. IFRA certifications indicate where your chosen aromatic oils can be used and what the recommended dosage is. By choosing high-quality aromatic oils specially designed for candles, you will not only achieve the desired result - excellent odor distribution, but you can also be sure of their safety.
How to make a home fragrance?
It's very simple. Choose a home fragrance dish with a stopper that you like. Buy a fragrance base and an essential or aromatic oil depending on your fragrance purpose. In a separate container, pour in the home fragrance base and the selected scent according to the proportion of the container. The container is usually not filled with scatter, so if you choose a 100 ml container, for example, the total amount of the mixture should not exceed 90 ml. Mix the home fragrance base with the selected scent in the following proportions: 75% home fragrance base, 25% favorite scent. Stir for about 2 minutes until the selected fragrance is completely mixed with the base. Then pour the mixture into a bowl, place the sticks and enjoy the aroma created. We recommend adding 3-4 sticks to start with. After an hour, turn the sticks over. Over time, the sticks may become dusty or saturated with oil, so replace the sticks with new ones if the odor subsides. Do not touch used sticks with your hands, use a paper towel.
Which scents are the best for the coziness of the home?
There is no doubt that the smell of home is one of the most important attributes of a cozy home. There is nothing more cozy than returning home smelling of cleanliness and freshly baked cake or freshly brewed coffee, freshly peeled oranges or a fragrant bouquet of flowers. However, there are many other different ways to create an unforgettable home scent. Try wax melters, scented candles, incense, homemade scents and discover your favorite way to make you home smell amazing. Choose quality essential oils that are not only fragrant but also clean the air and have a variety of health properties. Also choose high-quality aromatic oils, complex fragrance compositions that cannot be extracted from essential oils. Scents evoke memories, determine your mood and feelings, so experiment and enjoy warm summer memories with the aroma of fresh melon, remember the holidays, breathe in the freshness of the ocean, immerse yourself in luxury, surround yourself with aromas of amber and musk or immerse yourself in childhood nostalgia.
How to create a cozy home?

Decorate this place with cute details: rugs, pillows, ceramic dishes, candles, home scents or incense. Ideally, it could be a cozy place by the window to allow you to watch the changing nature. Decorate your home with as many natural motifs as possible: wooden objects, twigs, cones, nuts, bouquets of autumn leaves, etc. t. How to properly use soy wax candles?
1) After lighting the candle for the first time, burn it until the surface of the candle melts. This is especially important because the wax has a "memory".
2) The aroma of the candle is most strongly felt when the candle warms up.
3) Before each burning of the candle, cut the wick up to 0.5 cm. If the wick is cut too short, it may burn slowly, so there will not be enough flame to melt the wax. Later, the candle can start burning in a "tunnel" and go out. If the wick is too long, the flame of the candle will be too large, it will quickly melt the wax and burn less stably. Over time, soot can form which will contaminate the surface of the candle and the entire container.
4) It is not recommended to burn the candle for more than 4 hours to prevent the container from overheating and the risk of the container cracking. It is advisable to extinguish the candle, allow it to cool and shorten the wick again before lighting it.
5) Each candle is handmade, unique, and its components may be distributed differently. Due to the composition of natural ingredients, the wax can take on different shades, and changes in temperature, unequal transport conditions can lead to air gaps, cracks, as well as uneven distribution of the wax. This is a completely natural process using soy wax candles.
