The safety and correct burning of candles

  • The safety and correct burning of candles

The safety and correct burning of candles is one of the most important preventive factors in preventing accidents.

    Safe Candle Burning

When burning candles, the following safety rules must be observed:
    · Do not place candles near flammable items.
    · Do not leave the burning candle unattended. Before leaving the room, put out the candles and make sure that the cannula does not sink.
    · Keep candles out of the reach of children and animals.
    · Burn the candles in a ventilated but draft-free room. This can prevent uneven combustion, soot or wax dripping. The draft is dangerous because it can blow the spark of the flame and cause a fire.
    · Burn candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
    · Do not throw burnt cannut, matches, etc. in melting wax.
    · Do not burn candles near items that can catch fire: curtains, carpet, books and other items.Keep burning candles away from moving people, as clothes or hair can ignite if the wind blows or bows inadvertently.
    · Do not touch or wear a burning candle.
    · Do not allow the flame to reach the ends of the container - it may crack. Do not burn a candle in a cracked or otherwise damaged container.
    · When burning more than one candle, leave at least 10 cm between two candles. The heat from a flame of one candle may cause a stream of rising air to form and the adjacent candle will burn unevenly and other candle walls may dissolve.
    · The candles are best extinguished not by blowing, but by a special cap, as the wax can spill during blowing.

Correct burning of soy wax candles

    · If necessary, remove decorative parts from the candle.
    · Before lighting the candle, cut the wick to 1.5 cm
    · The candle flame should not exceed 1-1.5 cm. When the wick is too long or tilted, the combustion is uneven and the wax flows. If the flame "grew" because of too long a cannon, shorten the canister with scissors.
    · If a "cap" has formed on the tip of the wick, cut it. This is a natural phenomenon in soy wax candles.
    · After the first lighting of the candle, allow the "pool" of melting wax to reach the wall of the jar to avoid the formation of a "tunnel".
    · If you notice that the flame is more one way, after the candle has been extinguished, but the wax is not yet stiff, turn the cante to the opposite side with some object.
    · It is not recommended to burn the candle for more than 4 hours. It is better to extinguish the candle, allow to cool and shorten the cannula again before lighting.
    · Allow the dissolved wax to solidify before igniting the candle again.
